The Adopt-A-Spot program is one of the most popular ways to volunteer in Calcasieu Parish. Individuals, families, friend groups, businesses, church groups, schools, fraternities, sororities, and civic organizations are all welcome to participate.
Pick It Up Calcasieu provides everything you need at no cost—bags, gloves, litter pickers, and safety vests. Simply register online, choose your cleanup location, and pick a date that works for your group.

Every fall, Pick It Up Calcasieu hosts the Annual Calcasieu Cleanup—a parishwide volunteer event where individuals, businesses, and service groups come together to pick up litter across Calcasieu Parish. Free cleanup supplies are provided to all participants.

These free events are designed to engage people of all ages in the fight against litter through games and activities including the Litter Getter magnetic fishing rodeo, Litter Drop, TrashFormer's Park Adventure, and Collect 4.

Pick It Up Calcasieu works with schools and youth organizations across Calcasieu Parish to bring litter prevention education to the next generation. Volunteers and educators can schedule a classroom visit featuring presentations, book readings, educational materials, free giveaways, and a demonstration by TrashFormer—Pick It Up Calcasieu's litter-fighting robot.
Student volunteers who participate in litter cleanups may also be recognized through the Litter Champs awards program.
